Fiona Marron’s Biography

Born and based in Clane, Co.Kildare, Fiona Marron gratuated from the National College of Art and Design in 1984 after studying art for 5 years.

After her first soloshow in the Lincoln Gallery in Dublin in 1983, she moved to New York where her work was accepted by the prestigious Kathryn Markel Gallery on W.57 St.

In 1986, she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she was heavily influenced by the vast and varied landscape of the Pacific Northwest. Time spent in the rain forests of Olympia, Washington, the Rocky desert and the Columbia Gorge helped her to develop a unique visual language as well as winning several awards bolstering her reputation.

After her time stateside, Fiona Marron returned to her native Irish bogland, a place where she is happiest and most fulfilled.

Fiona continues to exhibit in ireland and the U.S. and divides her time outside the studio between family, teaching and volunteering with the elderly in Clane.
